Vascular Technologist Department: Cardiovascular Center: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Schedule: Per Diem-Variable Status Shift: Per diem Grade: 11.0 Hours: Flexible, Monday - Friday Contact Information: * Address: 800 Washington Street, Box 795 Boston, MA 02111 Job Details: * Bachelor's degree is required * 1-2 years experience is required * Under minimal supervision, performs non-invasive, peripheral vascular testing on inpatients and outpatients referred to New England Medical Center and provides preliminary interpretation. Supervises one or more lower level technical employee(s). Distributes reports, orders supplies, participates in conferences and lectures as requested and handles all day-to-day duties to ensure efficient operation of the Vascular Laboratory. Level of knowledge generally obtained through a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology with one or two years' experience in vascular testing. Registration in Vascular Technology would be eventually required. Ability to operate equipment and provide accurate preliminary interpretation of test results. Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with patients, physicians and students. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assess the needs of the adult and elderly age populations and to provide care appropriately.
