Sr. Occupational Health Nurse
Knowledge:
Seasoned professional familiar with occupational health, safety and environmental principles.
Extensive experience in nursing care of adults in occupational health setting
Experienced with managing medical aspects of OSHA programs.
Experienced with workers compensation management
Experienced with the principles of proactive Occupational Health management.
Responsibilities:
Provides daily oversight of Occupational Health Programs at site, following Biogen Idec Global Occupational Health Guidelines. May service more than one site.
Provides nursing care within scope of practice as defined by professional licensure and within Biogen Idec Clinical Guidelines
Proficient in performance of pertinent clinical skills including phlebotomy, pulmonary function testing, injection administration, routine care, and emergency triage
Provides leadership for the implementation and maintenance of Medical Emergency Response Team.
Budget: provides input for EHS budget and manages specific vendor accounts
Operational:
Excellent communication and public speaking skills. Presents EHS information in appropriate fashion during meetings, telephone conversations, walkthroughs, and training.
Facilitates routine and non-routine meetings.
Manages multiple tasks and plans own activities based on personal and department goals.
Provides timely, friendly, and professional service to all customers.
Comfortable with interactions with outside contacts and regulators.
Implements EHS procedures and compliance programs.
Maintains required records.
Drafts, reviews or revises assigned procedures and documents with moderate supervision.
Utilizes workday effectively.
Recognizes issues and resolves them in a timely manner.
Manages own schedule to complete work appropriately.
Works independently.
Asks for assistance appropriately.
Able to assimilate new technologies and information with minimal assistance.

Solid understanding of EHS and Occupational Health mission/vision.

Requirements:
BSN, RN, BS, MS in Occupational Health Nursing, Management, Health Administration and/or Public Health preferred
Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing
Evidence of appropriate continuing education credentials
COHN-S/CM and/or CCM credentials highly desirable
2-6 years as occupational health professional in progressive occupational setting.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing and Case Management highly desirable
Computers Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft products, Lotus notes Computer
Familiarity with Occupational Health Software and/or database systems and related data entry
