As a member of the Lead Finding Platform, the successful candidate will be responsible for state-of-the-art and diverse lab automation for the High Throughput Screening, Sample Management and Preclinical Safety Profiling groups. The candidate will also help define and commission new technologies to address the unmet robotic and automation needs of these groups.

Key Functions:
. Act as the primary support engineer for automation and instrumentation for the Preclinical Safety Profiling lab within the Lead Finding Platform . Carry out daily operations of automation/technology group support for our Safety Pharmacology and Ion Channel labs . Collaborate with LFP scientists to bring new assays or troubleshoot existing assays on automation platforms. . Responsible for establishing, monitoring and maintaining a stable and productive environment through QC, preventative maintenance and standard operating procedures. . Work with the engineers and outside vendors to evaluate prototype instruments, and identify novel automation solutions within the larger context of existing processes. . Act as key technical member of design, project management and implementation team for new automation systems. . Help remove bottlenecks in sample processing to facilitate the swift generation of high quality data. . Provide and/or coordinate vendor training to new users of equipment. Minimum requirements . The candidate should have a BS in related biological science or engineering field and 4+ years experience using and implementing automated systems including liquid handlers, microplate readers, automated cell culture and screening systems. . Familiarity and knowledge of the biology of high throughput biochemical and cellular screening is important.
