Nurse - Registered (RN) - NURSE: OR / SURGICAL SVCS

Full time RN opportunity with Cardiovascular OR (6:30am - 5pm, variable, 40 hrs/wk) with On Call 12-14/6 wk period. Primary duties are to provide direct nursing care to open heart patients in the operating room utilizing the nursing process, performs technical nursing functions, and upholds the standard of practice of a professional nurse. Will perform pre-operative assessment as well as organize equipment and supplies required for the surgical procedure. Will circulate to endo/vascular areas.

The OR RN manages the nursing care of cardiac patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:

Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs.

Recognizes common manifestations of musculoskeletal disorders and implements and monitors patient care plans.

Carries out physician orders.

Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.

Continuously performs postoperative assessments, performs nursing interventions and evaluates patient outcomes.

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Current licensure as an RN. Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

CNOR preferred. Must have OR experience
