This position is funded from the Commonwealth's annual operating budget.Duties:
Keeps buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing a combination of activities, including cleaning assigned areas and making minor repairs to buildings using hand tools and equipment.
Maintains floors by sweeping and mopping and by utilizing building custodial equipment such as polishers, buffers, vacuum cleaners and carpet shampooers.
Washes interior walls, ceilings, windows, using appropriate supplies and equipment. Empties waste receptacles and disposes of waste. Dusts and polishes furniture.
Maintains grounds around buildings by cutting grass, raking leaves, weeding, etc. Performs outside duties such as washing windows, sweeping walks, shoveling snow, picking up trash.
Performs related duties such as loading or unloading equipment and supplies from vehicles, moving furniture, setting up furniture in rooms for special functions or meetings, and assembling furniture such as beds, desks, cabinets, etc.
