Grad Intern - Pharmacokinetics & Drug Metabolism
Amgen's Pharmacokinetics & Drug Metabolism (PKDM) department at our Cambridge, Massachusetts location is looking for a graduate student interested in a 10 - 12 week internship to perform a supportive role within the department and will learn about the role of PKDM in small molecule drug discovery process. Tasks will vary but may include searching the database, conducting in vitro efflux and metabolic stability studies, cell culture, sample analysis using LC/MS/MS, and data integration. 1. Complete a special project: systemically examine the relationship between rat CL and in vitro efflux data for a set of compounds that are metabolically stable. 2. Prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation to the department summarizing key findings during the internship. The project will provide the intern an opportunity to enhance his/her research capability, problem solving and presentation skills and gain a better understanding about the role of PKDM in small molecule drug discovery process.

Basic Qualifications The successful candidate must have completed one full year of graduate study in the pharmaceutical, biological sciences Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: • Must be 18 years or older; • Must be a current full time student • Must have not yet graduated; • Must be in good academic standing within their majors and overall at their university; • Must be enrolled in school the fall season following the potential internship or co-op assignment. • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications • Ph.D degree in progress. • The successful intern will need strong problem solving skills, attention to details, self-motivation and to be able to work within specified timelines and communicate well
