DIRECTOR, REHAB
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Provides clinical consultancy and leadership for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital and services for Hamad Medical Center. Works collaboratively with the Hamad Medical Center leadership and staff to achieve deliverables outlined in the contract. Maintains effective collaborative working relationships with the Spaulding / Harvard executive team, off shore advisors assigned to the Qatar Rehab project and Partners International staff. Primary focus on coaching, mentoring, facilitating, and role modeling to transform care. Works closely with physicians, research and nursing. Takes daily direction from Vice President, SRN Inpatient Therapy/Doha Project Executive.
This position is based in Doha, Qatar. This is a one-year position renewable for up to three years. As such, incumbent will serve as a representative of Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, Partners HealthCare Systems and Partners International Medical Services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop 1st stage care pathways and plans with the goals to improve patient flow, to initiate early discharges from Acute Care to Rehab and to optimize outcomes.
2. Develop treatment guidelines which are focused on enhancing outcomes and progression to next level of care.
3. Identify basic data set to monitor LOS and outcomes. Implement data set and monitor performance.
4. Indentify performance improvement s to enhance care and outcomes. Lead PI projects.
5. Outline infrastructure and specifics of programmatic focus for the Ortho Trauma.
6. Outline plan to achieve Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation within 3 years.
7. Initiate CARF training for key HMC leaders to infuse CARF standards in daily clinical care as a guideline to the rehabilitation process and roadmap to excellence in rehabilitation.
8. Review equipment needs, outline capital equipment purchasing plan and develop a program for equipment maintenance.
9. Outline plan to launch Pilot rehabilitation program at an existing hospital focusing on trauma patients.
10. Identify infrastructure and resource needs for the Rehab pilot and develop action plan to address all needs.
11. Facilitate establishing the pilot according to outlined plan.
12. Ensures highest level of care and services, timely and accurate project completion.
13. Identifies performance improvement opportunities, initiates and monitors performance improvement projects to outcomes and effectiveness.
14. Communicates regularly with leadership and staff to identify, prioritize and monitor action items.
15. Serves as a liaison between landed project, PIMS, SRH and other players as appropriate.
16. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Clinical Degree, advanced degree in Management or Therapy
Preferred: Degree in Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Pathology. Prior international experience.
Required: Five or more years of professional practice in a rehabilitation setting. Prior management or leadership experience required. Licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions. Program and rehab ops knowledge, CARF expert. Qualifications:
