Director of Marketing Communications - Classics (Sports Marketing/Events/Promotions)

The Global Marketing Communication Team at our company is now recruiting a Director of Marketing Communications to join our Classics marketing team. We need internationally experienced communication experts with an entrepreneurial spirit who are interested in our Classics side of our company's business.

As a Director of Marketing Communications - Classics you will be responsible to successfully lead and develop creative communicative strategy and content marketing as well as provide business leadership and strategy on global campaigns together with the Media Team. The role is based in our company's Global Headquarters in Canton, MA, but has worldwide responsibilities. This position requires a massively talented strategist, a creative leader with management skills. What does that mean? We want an innovator, a trend setter, a progressive thinker. We want ideas to bridge offline/online, static, retail, print, web, mobile, social, gaming, etc and provide solutions to our consumers that are based on consumer's insights. It's a tall task - but takes a love of the new, a passion for trends, a passion for our brand and a desire to lead our company into the future.


Key Accountabilities:

  • The evaluation of consumer insight, company brand information, specific category trends and relevant data in order to create creative communications solutions that marry brand goals with consumer needs.
  • Lead communicative strategy for the Classics team and cross-disciplinary partners, vendors and agencies (creative, analytics, ecrm, etc.)
  • Development of strong partnerships with our internal Strategic Business Units, Media, Retail, PR and Events counterparts.
  • Trend seeking & idea generation: the ability to predict the future of the web and other digital channels and the ability to inspire cross-functional teams with big ideas.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Company Website

  • Strategy - Conceptualize, sell-in and deliver a strategy presentation for your category specific initiatives including; products, entertainers, events, Stakeholders include regions, local markets, communications and cross disciplinary company digital teams
  • Product Presentation - Innovate in the area of product presentation. Leverage consumer research and insight to bring a unique point of view to product display
  • Management - Lead ongoing initiatives on our company's website. Facilitate the localization of global initiatives and cross pollinate local and regional successes
  • Oversee its performance and value to consumers.


    Mobile, Media & Partnerships

  • Strategy - Develop consumer based strategy for digital category programs implemented off of our company's website
  • Implementation - Oversee the implementation of these initiatives at all levels (globally, regionally and locally).


    eCommerce

  • Strategy - Develop and oversee consumer based strategy for eCommerce conversion
  • Implementation - Oversee assets based on local needs that drive conversion for eCommerce and assist in the delivery of solutions for regions and local markets that build loyalty for eCRM
  • Partnership - Oversee collaboration with our company's digital team member responsible for eCommerce and eCRM to recommend the best solutions for these areas for football


    360 degree strategy development and roadmap implementation

  • Plan development - Provide a 360 degree strategic plan for the category's marketing initiatives. Secure approval from cross departmental stakeholders
  • Roadmap development - Develop a road map to success and implementation of the integrated marketing strategic plan.


    Team, Agency and Project Management

  • Team management - Oversee and lead a team of Marketing Communications Manager dedicated to the Classics category of our company's business
  • Agency management - Oversee and mange an arsenal of digital agencies and vendors responsible for delivery of creative and technical solutions for your category
  • Project Management - Command digital projects and drive their success amongst the team, the cross departmental teams and amongst our company's digital global, regional and local departments


    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field is required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 10 or more years global marketing communication experience - that goes beyond "media" or "account management"
  • At least 7 years working on International marketing campaign management is required.
  • 5 years working within an agency or 5 years experience directly managing creative agencies
  • Proven success at developing and inspiring with advanced thinking and creative solutions for emerging media channels.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience delivering solutions across digital media, creative, mobile, ecommerce, gaming and viral programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience at managing the build and implementation of websites for on time and on strategy delivery.
