Rockland Trust is currently looking for a Commercial Mortgage Appraisal Manager to lead a team of professionals in the administration and management of the Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Review function of Rockland Trust. The function is responsible for various interrelated commercial real estate due diligence activities for the bank. This includes ordering, reviewing, analyzing and conducting appraisal and evaluations to gain an understanding of real estate collateral values, an important part of underwriting commercial real estate loans. Duties: * Responsible for reviewing appraisal reports to ensure compliance with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), FIRREA and internal appraisal requirements. Ensures values are reasonable and appropriate for use by the commercial lines of business. Performs analyses and prepares conclusions documented in an appraisal review. Provides advice and guidance to commercial lines of business regarding lending decisions. * Provides written support for acceptance rejection, or modification of appraised values in an appraisal. * Collaborates with commercial lines of business to resolve appraisal concerns and questions from borrowers. * Defines appraisal issues, gathers and analyzes market data and documents market value conclusions in a clear and concise manner. * Analyzes market trends in real estate development valuation and appraisal techniques to ensure appraisers concluded with sound and rational value estimates, adhering to all standards and laws. * Inspects properties for construction, condition and functional design to access whether all assumptions that impact value are appropriate and reasonable. * Completes internal appraisal assignments for use in loan underwriting decisions. * Develops and maintains in all aspects of commercial real estate appraisal. Required Skills
The individual will be a seasoned commercial real estate appraiser (7-10+ years exp.). Commercial real estate lending/credit expertise desired. Must have prior management experience. Certified-General Estate Appraiser, and review experience in a bank environment preferred, MAI a plus. Ability to keep informed of real estate trends and developments to ensure that valuations conform with current market pricing a must. Solid technical skills expected. Ability to complete and interpret cash flow analysis derived from specific software. Must possess superior objective decision making ability to make logical, well informed and independent decisions in a limited timeframe. Excellent project management, analytical and research skills required. BA/BS required. MBA or equivalent preferred. Job Location Brockton, MA, US.
