GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Scope of position: The Clinical Research Coordinator will assist with study recruitment and long-term data collection for the Spaulding-Harvard Spinal Cord Injury Model System.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit study participants: The Research Nurse Coordinator will work closely with the Spinal Cord Injury Physicians and the Model System Program Directors to identify potential subjects, screen subjects based on medical history, enroll subjects into the SCI national database, and perform data collection (administer questionnaires, complete data collection forms with subjects). This position requires good communication skills, the ability to work well in a team setting, and ability to comply with regulatory requirements, hospital policy & Good Clinical Practice.
QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree required. RN preferred.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Working knowledge of issues in and principles of clinical research
Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and oral) skills
The ability to balance multiple priorities and handle confidential issues
The ability to identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently and function in a complex academic medical center
Proficiency with PCs and windows-based software, including Word and Excel.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires an individual who can multi-task and meet deadlines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
The position reports to the Director to the Principal Investigator(s) for assigned studies. Qualifications:
