CFOChief Financial Officer
This position requires coming out of the traditional finance box and having a broader vision, along with the ability to make quick decisions in a fast growth environment. The CFO is multitasking in non-financial functions including Business Development, Human Resources, Information Technology, Process Reengineering, Operations, Marketing and Sales. As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will have a strategic role in the overall management of the company and report to the CEO. This position will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships, compliance and private and institutional financing.
Responsibilities: * Raise capital with Venture Capital firms. * Provide the required documentation including the executive summary, detailed business plan, and 5 year financial projections in summary and detail. * Prepare and present the business plan * Prepare for mergers or acquisitions. * Develop an exit strategy though either IPO, merger, or acquisition. * Account for intellectual property including patents, trademarks and copyrights. * Continue to develop enterprise planning, forecasting and analytical capabilities and processes equivalent with best-in-class public company practices. * Work with senior management to put in place improved financial processes and analytical measures across all areas of the business. * Responsible for enhancing the way the organization views and disseminates information that critically impacts the business and influences business decisions. * Manage a disciplined day to day financial organization with a strong sense of urgency and a focus on adding value to the business. * Enhance/provide additional leadership for annual financial budgeting process. * Develop effective monthly and quarterly financial forecasting process to support superior financial performance management and earnings guidance process in a future public company environment. * Continuously improve the quality of internal controls to minimize the business exposure to financial risks. * Establish appropriate treasury operations and cash management processes. * Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts. * Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action. * Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities. * Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company * Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities. * Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. * Coordination with IT department to determine hardware and software requirements for increases in traffic and transactions
Qualifications and Requirements: * Network of contacts and market knowledge, has developed relationships with venture capital and angel investor communities, and has created strong strategic alliances with at least one well-known law firm, public relations firm and Big 5 CPA firm. * BS in Accounting or Finance, CPA required and MBA highly desirable * 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles * Experience in an online retail environment
