GENERAL SCOPE & SUMMARY
Considered part of the IT function and generally focused on the system and not the content of company material, uses experience with a variety of network technologies to lead internal and external clients with Internet-, intranet-, or extranet-based applications, including but not limited to C++, Java, XML, HTML, CGI, ASP, multimedia applications, database interactions and data modeling tools. Researches, tracks and understands new web technologies to provide technical leadership in developing service applications and analyzing business requirements as they pertain to intranet and external Internet-related systems. Builds applications using Internet and Windows Development tools. Provides written design documents, test plans and test results. Manages, develops, integrates and implements related applications components, including front-end development, server-side development and database integration. Plays a direct role in programming, maintenance, technical support, documentation and administration of the applications. Establishes and communicates standards to manage cost and ensure continuity of applications. May work with outside vendors in developing tests to ensure feature functionality. Creates a wide range of mission-critical business applications based on web technologies. This includes the automation of internal business processes and the integration of company's intranet with other enterprise applications.
PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ability to interpret business requirements based on knowledge of business processes.
* Ability to use different development tools & technologies in an integrated manner.
* Ability to work collaboratively across their immediate team, and extended teams.
* Analyze complex business processes and issues to be automated, enforced and resolved systemically.
* Evaluate existing web sites and applications to formulate logic for new systems and functionality.
* Provide technical consultation to users in the area of automated systems.
* Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
* Perform code reviews.
Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Working knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver or the equivalent HTML/CSS editing tool, Flash and/or Silverlight editing tools, Javascript/Jscript editing and debugging tools, Sharepoint Designer, JDeveloper or equivalent Java IDE, and/or Visual Studio 2010 or equivalent C# IDE, SQL/PLSQL and SQLServer/Oracle or equivalent database(s).
* Demonstrated competency in HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript/Jscript, XML, VBScript, , C# and/or Java, SQL, database design and multi-tiered web architectures.
* Ability to communicate complex information to project manager, design team, design team leader, IT management, and corporate management.
* Strong customer service and teamwork skills. Professional demeanor to maintain and enhance relationships.
* Independently handles complex aspects of position, such as web application design and development.
* Demonstrated competency in database design, multi-tiered architectures, web server configuration and administration and network topologies.
* Ability to use professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways. Deliver assignments without considerable direction.
* Ability to develop resolutions to complex problems where analyses of situations or data require an in-depth evaluation of various factors and the frequent use of creativity. Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
