CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST-- EP LABDescription: Responsibilities
1. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and promote interdisciplinary collaborative teamwork, including in emergent situations. Maintains effective working relations and communication with department and other hospital personnel.
2. Must possess strong analytical and organizational abilities necessary to perform multiple diagnostic tasks.
3. Must demonstrate proficiency in Windows based Witt Biomedical Systems.
4. Work requires four to twelve weeks of training, based on prior experience, to acquire necessary familiarity with procedures and equipment.
5. Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities encompassed within the position. Must have the ability to adapt to changing pace within the department.
6. Must be able to promote a customer/patient-oriented philosophy among all staff within the area.
7. Must use independent judgement, creativity and initiative in a variety of situations when assisting with patient procedures.
8. Must be able to work under extremely stressful conditions.
9. Must be able to understand and operate required equipment and information systems.
10. Must be physically capable of lifting (linen, supplies, patients, etc).
11. Must be aware of hazards within the department; adhere to safety standards established by the Hospital and other regulatory agencies.
12. Must have ability to work with adult, elderly patients, and critically ill patients. Must have ability to work productively in emergency situations such as cardiac and respiratory codes and on-call situations.
13. Must have a comprehensive understanding of hemodynamics including waveform recognition, abnormal hemodynamics, and hemodynamic calculations.
14. Maintains a high standard of professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
1. Candidate must have graduated with an Associate's degree from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or a related field. Or alternatively, the candidate must have graduated with an Associates Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and must be certified by the ARRT and must possess a valid license to practice as a radiologic technologist in the state of Massachusetts.
2. Completion of BLS and ACLS certification within 3 months of employment preferred; within 6 months required.
3. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
4. No documented corrective action over last year of employment.
5. Experience with precepting new employee(s) on at least one occasion. Qualifications:
