GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

1. Provides high-level administrative support and operational coordination of academic and research activities to the Director of the Spaulding National Running Center (25%), BADER Consortium Director of Clinical Research (25%), BADER Clinical Research Manager (25%), other members of the Dept of PM&R at the Spaulding-Cambridge Outpatient Center (25%).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serves as contact for external inquiries regarding related research programs for the Director of the Spaulding National Running Center, BADER Consortium Director of Clinical Research and the Clinical Research Manager, as well as assigned faculty of the Dept. of PM&R.

2. Maintains and updates information for internal calendars and program calendar; schedules internal and external meetings and videoconferences for the Director of the Spaulding National Running Center, BADER Consortium Director of Clinical Research and the Clinical Research Manager, as well as assigned faculty of the Dept. of PM&R.

3. Assists in planning travel and filing reimbursements for travel for the Director of the Spaulding National Running Center, BADER Consortium Director of Clinical Research the Clinical Research Manager, as well as assigned faculty of the Dept. of PM&R.

4. Prepares print materials, circulates documents for the Director of the Spaulding National Running Center, BADER Consortium Director of Clinical Research the Clinical Research Manager, as well as assigned faculty of the Dept. of PM&R.

5. Under the direction of the researcher, formats, edits grants, manuscripts and other scientific publications including bibliographies using EndNote software.

6. Assist with grant budget management including: Awareness of grant fund budgets and fund balances at all times.

7. Coordinating research related meetings and events

8. Preparing activity announcements for dissemination through direct emails and the BADRE-C web site.

9. Processes forms for ordering supplies and generating payments; maintains office inventory

10. Maintains a basic understanding of grant fund management, requirements for grant submissions to various agencies.

11. Independently researches requirements for formats of various grants, manuscripts and other scientific publications including bibliographies using EndNote software.

12. Using OVID and PubMed, performs on-line literature searches.

13. Keeps current and learns new computer applications as needed/required.

14. Proofreads all documents ensuring utmost accuracy of all text and formatting requirements.

15. Stays abreast of new research grant requirements and administrative tasks, tools, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree required, BS/BA preferred

3-5 years relevant experience,

Experience in academic medical setting preferred

Professional appearance and demeanor

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Pagemaker, Adobe InDesign, Pubmed, OVID, EndNotes PDA knowledge

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
