Greets, receives and directs all healthcare members and others immediately upon arrival to the department, in a courteous and friendly manner. Maintains a professional environment for all. 2. Answer's multilined phone systems, accurately records message and triages phone calls in a friendly, courteous manner. Answers phone on second ring. Is able to put calls "on hold" and "transfer calls" without losing the caller. 3. Page physicians and other staff as needed and requested. 4. Routinely monitors schedule to avoid conflicts and identify scheduling alternatives. Prints daily schedule and distributes accordingly. 5. Performs various functions as needed by the physicians and nursing staff, including taking and relaying complex messages and returning phone calls with detailed accuracy. 6. Sorts, copies, files and distributes all in-coming and out-going correspondence, faxes and mail to the appropriate parties on a daily basis. 7. Maintains par level for office supplies, Initiates appropriate requisitions as necessary. 8. Maintains a neat and orderly work area. Completes all work orders for continuos up keep of physical plant. 9. Provides administrative assistance to Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Leaders, & Clinical Mentors and all other staff. a. Participates in development of information through data collection, statistical manipulation, and preparation of formal reports. 10. Copies weekly call schedules & distributes appropriately. 11. Identifies staff schedule daily, 12. Responsible for transport order entry for patients to operating room. 13. Responsible for order entry for all on call cases to be picked by SPED. 14. Continuously maintains & updates the daily patient flow board. a. On Call bookings
Requirements 1. High school graduate or equivalent with one year of experience in a patient care setting preferred. 2. Medical Terminology preferred. 3. Computer experience preferred. 4. Ability to perform multiple tasks using strong organizational skills. 5. Continual prioritization of workload to contribute to the orderly functioning of the department. 6. Ability to work independently, with attention to detail and high level accuracy 100% of the time. 7. Strong communication skills to ensure the accurate transfer of information and excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate courteous interaction with patients, visitors, and other hospital employees.
